Friday Favorite

I have a new love for subway art.  I love the different fonts, the different colors some have and I love what most of them say.  I have printed some for my daughters room and framed them, I have used some as handouts for different things I'm involved in and I have printed them for decor in my house.  A friend of mind introduced me to the cute ones that you can find here.  It's been fun to print them and change them up for different occasions. 

Hope your first weeks of your kids back in school have been all you want them to be.  Enjoy your long weekend and watch for a great upcoming sale!

Friday (un)Favorite

 I have mixed feelings about the fact that school has started. My kids started this past Tuesday. It is nice to (try) to get back into a routine and I know, for the most part, my kids have been excited to get back (never for the homework though!) : )

My un-favorite part about it is that summer is coming to a close! Where did it go... seriously!?! I love the casual days, the warm weather, the fun activities, the no worries approach.

But, what do you do?? Sigh.... Nothing I suppose, but to try and take in the warm weather while it's here and enjoy the weekend!

Friday Favorites

Shopping is a favorite, especially with school right around the corner. Even as a child I remember going back-to-school shopping with my mom and we would buy new shoes, socks, a new back pack if it was needed and some new clothes because we had all grown out of just about everything from the year before. I also loved shopping for all the new school supplies that were required for school like new pencils, fresh new folders, maybe a binder, a trapper keeper...do you remember those....I loved them, a new note book with all empty clean pages. Funny stuff.....right? Come on you remember.

Well, we have some new shoes and some new shirts and we got lucky with most of our pants, they still fit, but who knows the weather is still warm and we won't be putting those pants on right away, so we maybe out shopping for more. Now all we have left is are school supplies. 

I still can't believe that the lazy days of Summer are winding down and school is starting....crazy and a little bitter sweet.

Weekend Favorites

It has been a fun and relaxing weekend...so far.  In my opinion, that is the way weekends should be.  Time to hangout with you husband and kids and try not to work too hard.  This weekend started with a fun date night with my husband..dinner and a little shopping.  Today, we caught up on last nights Olympics, then finally left the house around 2:30 to make our weekly Costco run.  If we go as a family, we are there for at least a couple of hours. Today, we were there for at least that, but we walked out of there with "The Lorax".  

This is such a cute movie with a sweet message.  It was fun to watch my boys laugh at the funny characters.  They especially liked the mini-movies it came with.  My 4 year old laughed so hard, it made my husband & I laugh just as hard.
