Okay.... are you ready for this? My Friday Favorites.

I love, love, love growing my own flowers and veggies and it's about this time of year when you start to maybe get a little cabin fever and your craving those yummy warm summer days and you know that it is only a matter of time. Right? Yeah!

Time... that's when I pull out my trays, my lights, the little green house and of course the seeds. It always helps move time along when I get to focus on what flowers I should grow this year and where should I put this flower and oh...um wouldn't that be pretty here, maybe I should buy a few more pots, which of course equals more flowers. Wow! I'm playing the imagination game in my head and I better get busy and the next thing you know it's May and you have to put those babies in the ground. Awesome! :)

Exciting right? Hold on, it gets better. Once you have planted your cute tiny seed into it's container, you get to watch it grow and see what its going to turn out to look like. Once those little seeds grow then its time to transplant and then they are big enough that they could go right outside into your cute portable greenhouse...they are awesome.

I'm sure I could go on and on, but I think that you get the idea. It's my second year growing my own flowers and veggies and I love it and I think it is so fun.

Happy Birthday Teri!!

Today is Teri's birthday. She is the beautiful one in the middle. Instead of "Friday Favorites", I decided to share a couple of my favorite things about Teri. She is the oldest of us five kids, and has been such a great example to each of us. She is so organized and on top of things. You would never guess she has 5 kids of her own because she looks amazing. She is a great friend, she has always been there for me when I've needed her. I have two amazing sisters, I am so grateful! I luv ya Teri...hope you've had a great day! xo

Thinking Spring....

Yes, I realize we really are still right smack dab in the middle of winter (with no snow to show for it, btw), but there is nothing better than brightening a dull grey winter day with the thoughts of the bright lively colors spring.

Spring truly is a favorite time with everything coming back to life, all the beautiful colors.... which got me thinking. What are the "colors" for 2012?? (which, honestly, I'm not really sure who gets to be the one that decides what those are??)

Wow, the Holidays were great and like usual they seem to fly and then sadly they are all over and it's back to school, work and life as we know it. So, here we are...umm...perhaps a little behind, but back in the swing of things and our "Friday Favorites".

A favorite of mine is a fresh start and I do love a New Year, although I don't necessarily have any set New Years resolutions, I think I just like the mind set of being better and trying to improve on things that I would like to see happen differently this year than last year. As I venture into the New Year I kind of like to see what life brings and what new choices and happenings come along.

Who knows? A happy one! :)

Friday Favorites

This time of year can be so magical! If you look past all the hustle and bustle of the crowds, the traffic and the grumpy people and look at this time of year through a child's eyes, it is so fun. I have a 3 year little boy who is so excited for Christmas. He wants EVERYTHING for Christmas and is so excited for Santa to bring him toys. I love reading him our favorite Christmas stories and sharing with him the "true" meaning of Christmas. I hope you stop for a moment and enjoy this time of year. Spend time with your family and friends and just take it all in.

Friday Favorites

What has become a big time favorite at our house, for my kids especially, is Hot Chocolate!

We have gone from the standard "milk chocolate fix" to an assortment of flavors and add-ins.

We had a little Christmas gathering this past week and put together a whole
"Hot Chocolate Bar" spread....
which, by the way, was really fun and easy to put together!

To not complicate the chocolate flavors for this particular night, we stuck with the milk chocolate hot chocolate and did all of our 'jazzing up' with the add-ins...

We had whip cream, marshmellows, candy canes for basic starters and then also had hot tamales, m&m's, white chocolate dipped marshmellows with sprinkles or peppermint candy, donut holes and the big favorite, caramel white chocolate dipped spoons with sprinkles! Yum!


So... maybe this weekend, shake it up a little and give it a try.
Cozy up to the fire with a hot cup of cocoa... maybe a new flavor and some new add-ins.

The Christmas Season is a crazy, wonderful, giving, sharing time of the year, but it can all add up quickly. Who doesn't love a deal?..... Right? Yes, I do. Love them!

Getting a great deal on a wanted or desired item is always a favorite. Any "Black Friday" shoppers out there? Yes, I was one of those crazy shoppers up in the middle of the night and early morning hours and it is certainly a favorite to get your steal of a deal item or items after staying up late and standing out in the cold. Awesome! Almost done with my gifts!
