Sorry, if you have desperately missed our weekly posts and we are striving to keep you up on the latest and greatest happening in our neck of the woods.
So we've missed a couple of Friday Favorites and you might be wondering, where did they go? or What happened? Well, first off, it's the end of the Summer and you've got to get in that last little bit of Summer fun. Then today was our first day of school, which is always a little crazy as you are rounding up school supplies, buying new shoes and some new clothes. You might have to run by the grocery store and pick up some school lunch snacks and probably some extra bread for all those sandwiches that you will be making every morning for the next 8 months.
Oh, wow! School! I'm on the fence about school starting, it's a love-hate situation.

Anyways, continuing on, I've had some computer issues, but who hasn't...right? So, I have a new computer, and to be honest I'm not super computer smart to get my new computer up and running the way I want, so I kind of have to wait for my husband, which is great, but takes a little more time. I'm also working on getting a new photo shop installed and that takes time and is where all my photos are.

I think that life itself can be crazy-busy from time to time.

So, that's a little bit of what is or isn't going on here in our neck of the woods and why you haven't been able to enjoy our awesome weekly updates and Friday Favorites.

Friday Favorites...

I am SO excited that today is Friday because tomorrow I get to go see my sisters. The three of us run Belle Trousseau, but I live 6 hours away from them. I don't get to see them as much as I would like, so I anticipate my visits with them. This weekend we are meeting in St. George at our parent's home. We will all have some little people with us, but at least we'll be together. We'll swim, shop and on Monday night we get to take our girls to see Little Mermaid at Tuachan. It will be a fun packed weekend. I can't wait!! There is nothing like my sweet sisters!!

Friday Favorites

Okay, so we are going with the actual phrase "Friday (is the) Favorite"..... because Friday really is a favorite, especially this week.

You think that summer arrives and the schedule will slow down and you'll be able to soak up all the time with family and friends. Yes, it rids the time filled with helping kids with homework and assignment deadlines, but the time gets absorbed into so many other things. It's been a busy week and late nights, each day rolling right into the next. So I am super "WOO HOO" for today being Friday and knowing that we have a pretty chill weekend ahead.... going to soak up that time, relax and enjoy! You too, okay!! : )

Friday Favorites

Snow cones, shaved ice, Hawaiian ice, a yummy cool frozen treat, it doesn't matter what you call it. There is nothing better in the Summer than one of these and we like to call it a snow cone. As a child growing up I don't remember there being so many flavor options and they have these creme combos mixes, but without fail I always end up with my favorite, tigers blood. Love it!

Doesn't that look yummy?

Wow, I just might need to run over to my nearest snow cone stand and get me one.

Friday's Yummy Favorite

My sister-in-law is visiting and made this YUMMY salsa for us for dinner. Black bean salsa...you'll be hooked when you start eating. It's also super easy to make. Great snack, side or add to your tacos. Have a great weekend!

Black Bean Salsa Recipe

1 can black beans

1 can corn

diced roma tomatoes to taste

small red onion

1 avocado

1 package of dry italian seasoning mix

Mix all together and serve with tortilla chips

Friday Favorites.... on Spectacular Saturday

Okay.... the "summer time" clock throws off the days here and there and so once again we find ourselves posting on Saturday. Oh well, I guess better late than never : )

So my family had the opportunity to go to Lake Powell this past week over the 4th of July holiday (btw—Happy 4th!).

Lake Powell is a very favorite thing for our family. We try to go down once a year. We missed being able to go last year, so were super excited to be able to go this year with a couple of other families.

It's always a great time at the lake! Love the "get away", the warmth of the sun and water and being able to relax and play with my kids and my hubby.

Friday Favorites

Working in my yard is definitely a favorite for me. I love, love, love tinkering around in my yard and making it all pretty and on the plus side I find it relaxing.

I also grew most of my own veggies and flowers from seed this year. Very cool! ;)

It seems like every year we have an outdoor DIY project and I probably have a little influence on creating or perhaps making those DIY project come to life. The work is always hard and crappy at times, but I sure love the end results. So, this year my project was taking our shed from the concrete pad on the left and moving it to where it now sits now, next to the fence.

We had to build a little retaining wall and fill it with dirt because the grass slops there.

Anyways, doesn't it look good!

Afterwards we asked ourselves why we hadn't put it there in the first place. Love it!

This year I planted tons of Zinnia's around my yard and I love them. Yummy!
